FAQ
Node
Can anyone start a node?
A node can be started and operated by an association, a cooperative or by an individual. It can be set up by both a producers or by a consumer. Its free and its easy.
Can anyone join a node?
Yes, we believe in allowing everyone to join nodes, both producers and consumers without first being approved. Most people behave well and do good and should be welcome as a default. And, if we want local food to increase, its important to let anyone producing local food to join in. However, it is possible to exclude producers who misbehave, though this has so far not happened. P.S Thore are planes to create features to be able to tailor nodes more individual later on D.S.
Where can I set up a node?
A node/delivery spot can be held anywhere. In a parking lot, at a daycare center, outside a store, at a farm shop or from a garage. However, make sure you have the permissions that may be required to use the specific location as the drop-off location.
How big or small must a node be?
There are no lower or upper limit. You can be as few as one producer connected to a node, up to s many as you see fit.
Whats my main task as node admin?
The short answer: Communication and marketing; to be a contact person. The long answer: First and foremost, to engage local producers to join the node. Act as a contact person and keep an active communication with them throughout the season if necessary. Promote the node towards the local community and consumer members. To help promote products, delivery dates and so on. Having a bit of a supporting role as-well.
What skills do I need?
You should be good with people and know how to communicate, both orally and digitally. A clear advantage if you already have a good local network.
Can I share or pass on the admin role to someone else?
Yes, you can give the administrator role to another person if needed, and also invite to have more then one administrators for one singel node.
Do I get paid to be an admin?
The admin role for a node does not receive any paid compensation from us. We believe that you who choose to start a node, do this because you see the need for it and because you love being the local force that makes good things happen in your neighborhood. We also believe that there may be an opportunity for some to integrate this task into their role as a local organizer or, if necessary, create their own organization to support this activity.
Can I get paid by producers to join the node?
No. Connecting to a node and selling through it is always free for producers. The core with this project is to create tailored producers tool, to get them connected to end-consumers first hand, without any revenue loss.
Can I name a node whatever I want?
Absolutely, the name choice is up to you and your community, and all nodes act independently without any concept of affiliation.
Can I set rules for the node?
For the time being, there is no way to set rules for what type of producers can join the node. This is something that is under discussion and we see future opportunities for nodes to be able to niche themselves as organic, veg or other. As it is now, nodes remain inclusive and customers can decide what they want for products by directly choosing which producers they want to support with their purchases.
